OK yeah so this is just as hard as i thought it would be.

well let's see the first is amazing because of what it represents, and the second is one of those beautiful things that happened back in the 60s when rock musicians (who at the time had some real skills) wanted to stretch beyond the place culture was trying to shoehorn them into.

IMHO The Nice's Five Bridges Suite was far superior and predated it, but Concerto for Group and Orchestra is a fine record.

the issue is actual cost of healthcare.

arguing about who is paying for it doesn't change anything at all.

deregulate the drug approval process and shorten patent life. you'll see a drop in cost.

Earthdance 2009: here's what happened

i might upload some more pics later, but here's the primary report: Chris Sloan and I went to Iowa City and had a good weekend. the power was crappy so i had to deal with equipment failure but i got by.

apparently i played a "minimal dark electro" set. whatever that means. regardless of what it was, according to what i was told by observers i am to assume i can throw down a worthwhile "live PA" set even under duress. this was good to hear.

there were a lot of complimentary and friendly people at the event and it was good to be in a situation like that again. i for one hope that i see The Half-Naked Indian again, even though i don't want to see him anywhere near half-naked.

i also got to introduce Chris (aka pasulel) to Bishop's Cafeteria and Buffet, and chaircrusher took this photo, made this recording, and met us for lunch at a place called Panchero's that makes their own tortillas. pretty cool weekend all around IMHO.
