    Time Event
    5:58p
"Brigadier, this reactor must be shut down now!"
you know what, if our time on this planet ends because we accidentally turn Chicago into an actual black hole (insert wisecrack about figurative becoming literal here) and the entire planet gets sucked into it (insert second wisecrack about thinking you're the centre of the universe), i think i can live with that. it would just be a pity not knowing that's what happened.

i see no reason to discourage the Fermi Lab from attempting to destroy this entire planet in less than a second. it would kind of be a sort of perfect end to this species.

EDIT: apparently this collider is in Europe, and nowhere near Chicago. i'm going to leave the original post up because i would personally like to imagine it being where the black hole is created, despite the fact it's a shining example of my own incompetence in reading comprehension.

also, if this LHC doesn't wind up as a plot element in a UNIT episode of Doctor Who i'll be disappointed.
